ADAM KOCH, SUPERINTENDENT
419-823-4381 option 1
I hope that everyone is having an enjoyable and relaxing summer. I am honored to be selected as the next Superintendent of Otsego Local Schools. I have met a lot of wonderful community members over the past two school years and would like to personally thank everyone for their continued support of our students. Our students achieve many great successes in life and it could not happen without the support of the community and the entire staff at Otsego. The passion that I have seen from our staff and the community has been phenomenal.
One of my many goals is to keep the staff and the community informed and to maintain an open door policy. If anyone has a question, idea, or concern please do not hesitate to discuss it with me or the other administrators. This is an extremely busy and exciting time at Otsego. There are a lot of educational changes taking place at the state level. Our staff will be working hard on changing over to the common core standards that Ohio adopted. The common core standards will provide a consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to learn. These standards are designed to be robust and relevant to the real world. Two years ago we were awarded a $100,000 grant to help financially with this transition. New assessments start during the 2014-2015 school year.
Our new Otsego Elementary opens at the start of this school year and renovation has begun on the existing Junior High. The junior high will be done sometime late spring of 2013. What an exciting time to be a Knight!
My vision is to involve all stakeholders of Otsego in developing goals and to determine the overall vision of Otsego. The vision cannot be just about what I want. It needs to be what we want. We live in a rapidly changing world and the educational structure is changing. We need to continue to adapt to the ever-changing technologies so that all of our students are well-prepared for an evolving future. We have a wonderful opportunity to grow and take our school and community to the next level. I am excited and ready to get started!
My wife Kristin and I are excited to call Otsego ‘home’.
